Week #2 Blog/Forum.

 1. creativity -creativity, I added this because I think all games need to be creative. no one likes a boring already used idea or concept for a game being creative and outside the box is important.

2. narrative/storytelling- I believe storytelling is important also because it is the way you get your point across. With a bland story most people won't get the lesson the game is telling because it hard to get a stimulation to the game.

3. stimulus- I believe that stimulus is very important because playing a game without feeling attached or energized toward the game leads to stale content. having your players feel engaged or immersed is one of the most important aspects of a game.

4. emotion- when I play a game I want to feel attached or connected to the game. bringing emotion to a game the experience can completely change for the player.

5. Aesthetics- a game needs to have a unique look to it to catch the audience's eyes, without something original or a twist it won't attract most players.

6. Rules- free roam games are fun but games with rules like search and destroy games such as Call of duty (Activision) or battle royales like Fortnite (Epic 2017), are fun because they have rules you have to follow that make the play style unique and competitive.

7. Mechanics- a game with good mechanics is essential in my opinion. Because a game that has a great concept but the actual play or how you manipulate the game is off the whole experience is ruined. A game that has a great concept and great mechanics is Apex Legends (EA, Respawn 2018)

8. win/lose- I believe games can be great with a no win/lose system such as an Elder Scrolls (Bethesda) or any RPG game. But with the world being really competitive in current times, win lose is something I believe most games should strive to have. I personally love Esports which is really a competition of who is the best at the game. Games such as Counter Strike (Valve Corporation) do this Win/lose really well.

9. discovery- discovery, this is because when I play a game I also want to learn or discover something about the world or myself. I believe games can be like books teaching lessons while telling a story. A great game with a great story and lessons is The Last of Us (Sony/Naughty Dog 2013)

10. Playstyle- I believe games should have many ways to execute levels or play the game. Giving players who like players slow, conservative or sneaky a way to get through the level. Or players who are aggressive, loud, fast can find their way to finish the level they want to. Games such as Apex Legends (EA, Respawn 2018) give the player so many ways with different weapons and abilities to be able to capitalize on their play styles the most.

Everyday Activity:

My everyday activity that I would choose to make a video game would be cooking. I would choose cooking because there are many steps to it, things like preparation, cooking, seasoning and the list goes on. I would make this game an open ended type of game with different points from different areas and style of cooking. So for creativity an aspect in my list, You can relate this to cooking because every meals has different ways to cook them so depending of what style of cooking you choose gives more points based on the difficulty of style. Next you could do play style this kinda goes with preparation because most meals have a different way to prep them and this can be based on points too. you can have aesthetic in the game as well because presentation of the meal is important no one wants to eat a ugly meal. This is how I would turn the everyday activity of cooking into a video game.
